Would a lab/great pyrenese mix do well moving from a indoor family home to a ranch as an LGD dog?

I have had him for two years and he has been mostly an indoor dog. He has been my first dog and i have been a responsible owner as far as shots and feeding and caring for him but im not really active enough with him. I care alot about him and dont want him to be mistreated but honestly I dont feel he gets enough attention, and my mom has copd and asthma and the hair is getting to be to much on her and the dr says she should not be around animals. So...the time has come i am looking for him a new home, however i dont know too much about dogs and breeds and i would like some opinions on if him going to a ranch to be an outdoor LGD dog with other LGD dogs with lots of property and a pond would suit him well. Do you think he would love it? He does like to run free and have friends. I am asking lots of questions about the care he will receive there. I dont want him just left to roam and be neglected! And what about the heat, I live in Texas.? Will he go crazy and be lost missing his family here? Thanks for any help
